How to Import Your Fragrantica Collection into Fraghead

If you’ve been cataloging your collection on Fragrantica, you don’t have to start over on Fraghead. The import pulls your wardrobe and wishlist directly, saving you from manually entering every bottle you own.

This is one of those features with almost zero documentation anywhere — so here’s the actual step-by-step.

What Gets Imported

Before you start, know what the import does and doesn’t bring over:

Imported:

• Your wardrobe (fragrances you own)
• Your wishlist (fragrances you want to try)
• The house and fragrance name for each entry

Not imported:

• Your Fragrantica ratings or reviews (those stay on Fragrantica)
• Notes or collection annotations you’ve added to Fragrantica entries
• Your vote history

The import is clean and additive — it creates Fraghead records for each bottle in your wardrobe without overwriting anything you’ve already set up on Fraghead.

Step 1: Find Your Fragrantica Profile URL

Log in to Fragrantica and go to your profile. The URL format is:

https://www.fragrantica.com/member/XXXXXX

Where XXXXXX is your numeric member ID. Copy this URL — you’ll need it for the next step.

If you’re not sure where your profile is, click your username anywhere on Fragrantica and it will take you there.

Step 2: Log in to Fraghead

Go to fraghead.io and sign in. If you don’t have an account, create one — it takes thirty seconds with email or Google.

Step 3: Navigate to the Import Screen

In your Fraghead dashboard, click your avatar or username in the top right, then select Import Collection. Alternatively, the import option is available in your profile settings under Connected Accounts.

Step 4: Paste Your Fragrantica Profile URL

Paste the Fragrantica URL you copied in Step 1 into the import field and click Import.

Fraghead will fetch your public Fragrantica profile. This requires your profile to be set to public visibility on Fragrantica — if your wardrobe is private, the import won’t be able to read it.

To check your Fragrantica privacy settings: go to your Fragrantica profile → Settings → Privacy, and make sure “Show my wardrobe” is set to public. You can switch it back to private after the import if you prefer.

Step 5: Review and Confirm

After fetching your profile, Fraghead shows you a preview of what it found:

• Number of fragrances in your wardrobe
• Number of fragrances in your wishlist
• Any fragrances it couldn’t match (usually obscure releases or data entry variations)

Review the preview and hit Confirm Import to bring everything in. The import typically takes 10–30 seconds for collections under 200 bottles; larger collections may take a minute or two.

Step 6: Handle Unmatched Fragrances

For any fragrances that didn’t match automatically, Fraghead shows you a list of unmatched entries with a search field to find the right record manually. This happens when the Fragrantica name doesn’t exactly match Fraghead’s database — usually for older releases, regional exclusives, or fragrances with unusual punctuation in their names.

Search for the fragrance by house or partial name, select the right match, and it gets added to your collection.

If you can’t find a match at all, you can add it as a custom entry or skip it for now.

After the Import: What You Can Do

Once your collection is in Fraghead, a few things become immediately useful:

Discover available decants from your wishlist. Fraghead surfaces decants of fragrances on your wishlist — so if another collector is selling a 5ml of something you’ve been wanting to try, it shows up in your feed.

List decants from your wardrobe. Any bottle in your imported wardrobe can be listed for decanting in a few clicks. Fraghead pre-fills the fragrance details, so you just set your volume, price, and quantity.

Get matched with buyers. When other users have a fragrance on their wishlist that you have in your wardrobe, Fraghead can suggest the connection. This is how spontaneous decant requests happen.

Keeping Your Collection in Sync

Fraghead doesn’t automatically sync with Fragrantica after the initial import — the import is a one-time pull. If you add bottles to Fragrantica later, you can re-run the import to bring in new additions. Fraghead is smart enough to add new items without duplicating what’s already there.

For ongoing collection management, most power users just maintain their collection directly in Fraghead after the initial import, since it’s built around decanting rather than general logging.

Troubleshooting

“Profile not found” error. Check that your Fragrantica profile is set to public and that you’ve copied the full URL including the member ID number.

Import shows 0 fragrances. Your Fragrantica wardrobe may be empty or set to private. Log in to Fragrantica and verify you have fragrances added to your wardrobe, then check privacy settings.

Fragrance shows in import but I don’t recognize it. Fragrantica sometimes has multiple entries for the same fragrance (different versions, concentrations, or regional releases). The import brings in whatever is in your Fragrantica wardrobe — if you added the wrong version there, fix it on Fragrantica first, then re-import.

Import is stuck loading. Large collections (300+ bottles) can take a few minutes. If it’s been more than five minutes, try refreshing and running the import again.

The import takes less than two minutes if your collection is already organized on Fragrantica. After that, your Fraghead collection is ready to use — both for discovering what’s available as decants and for listing your own.
