Account information
When you create an account, we collect your email address, display name, and preferred language. If you sign up through a third-party provider, we receive the information authorized by that provider.
Fragrance collection data
When you import your Fragrantica profile or add fragrances manually, we store your collection data including fragrance names, houses, notes, and any decant sizes and prices you set.
Usage data
We collect basic usage information such as pages visited, search queries, and interactions with the platform. This data helps us improve the service.
Cookies
We use cookies for session management, remembering your preferences, and identifying returning users. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
2. How we use your data
We use your personal data to:
- Operate your account and provide the service.
- Display your fragrance listings in search results and community pages.
- Enable communication between buyers and sellers.
- Improve the platform based on usage patterns.
- Send you service-related notifications (not marketing, unless you opt in).
3. Third-party services
We use the following third-party services to operate the platform:
- Algolia — powers search functionality. Fragrance names, house names, and listing metadata are indexed for search.
- Google Cloud Storage — stores fragrance thumbnail images.
- Google Cloud Run — hosts the application infrastructure.
These services process data on our behalf and are bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.
4. Data retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it.
Fragrance data that has been indexed for search may take up to 7 days to be fully removed from search results after deletion.
5. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights under the GDPR:
- Right of access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Right to rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data.
- Right to erasure — ask us to delete your personal data.

6. US privacy rights
